A secondhand book of “Watashi no Kiichi” at Koganecho Artbook Bazaar. Tsutaya Kiichi(1914-2005) was a prominent artist of postwar nurie(coloring picture) boom. Girls he drew were endowed with Japanese loveliness of that time. Retro…, but fresh.
先日、黄金町アートブックバザールで出合った蔦谷喜一の古本、『わたしのきいち／ぬりえ作家、蔦谷喜一の世界 （1997年初版、小学館）』。戦後日本の”ぬりえブーム”の立役者である蔦谷の描いた絵は、いま見ても十分に可愛いと思う。むしろこのレトロさが、逆に新鮮だ。

Chojamachi Art Planet, CHAP for short, four-story old building located near Isezaki mall in Yokohama, Japan. The whole building is devoted to art. The first floor is divided into studios for six artists. 3rd and 4th floors are private spaces for artists staying. And 2nd floor, a dance hall in past days, is a space for exhibition and event (see pictures below). Showa retro flavor. Nice place. Worth seeing.
横浜イセザキモールの裏道で、偶然、展示会の案内板を見かけて立ち寄った『長者町アートプラネット』。通称CHAP、（CH)ojamachi (A)rt (P)lanet。４階建てのビルディングをまるごとアートの場にしてしまったというユニークな建物だ。１階は複数アーティストの共同アトリエ。３・４階は滞在アーティストたちのプライベート空間。そして２階は展示会や催し用のスペースになっている。なかでも、かつてダンスホールだったという２階はいい感じの空間（写真参照）。すみずみまで昭和レトロの香りが溢れている。白壁があたりまえの一般ギャラリーとはまったく異なる空間だが、アート作品が展示されているさまが妙にしっくりくるのが面白い。また１階のアトリエスペースは、日々アーティストが作品を生み出している現場ということで通常はオープンにされていない場所だが、その場にいた竹本真紀さんと藤原京子さん（二人ともここにアトリエを持つアーティスト）が、くまなく案内してくださった。おかげで制作現場の臨場感をたっぷり味あわせて頂きました。お二人ともありがとうございました。また近くに寄ったら伺わせていただきます。

KIDDY LAND, Harajuku Cat Street Shop, this morning. Temporarily moved to current location in 2010, since the original building got renovated.
台湾に行ったときに目に付いてしまった、元気なTシャツブランド”BEEBUB”。１００種類を超えるシンプルなキャラクターが、かなりの大きさでドーンとプリントされているだけの分かりやすさ。背景デザインとかまったく無いところが潔い！ 台湾ならではの可愛らしさを感じてしまった。直営店舗は多く、忠孝門市、公館門市、中和門市、永康門市、新竹門市、高雄文化門市、高雄成功門市など７店舗。（門市というのはSTOREのことか？）。私が行ったのは永康街のお店。女子店員の対応は抜群に親切。Tシャツだけでなく雑貨類も充実してきているようで今後目が離せない。
