Masaru Shichinohe

Masaru Shichinohe, Japanese artist. Born in Aomori prefecture, in February 5, 1959. Last year, I saw his latest work “Snow White (see below)” at a group show “Märchenism – Musō no Kijutsu”, curated by Akira Uno. Poisoned apple was floating in the air. If Snow White had appeared in the magical mirror like this, the Queen should have been paralyzed with fright. I wonder if Snow White had a telekinesis powers?

七戸優（しちのへ まさる）さん。1959年2月5日青森県生まれのアーティスト。昨年末に池袋東武デパートの美術画廊で行われたグループ展「メルヘニズム～夢想の記述～」に出品されていた。ここにご紹介する４点の作品のうち一番上のSnow Whiteは、会場の入り口に飾られていた6号の油絵。宙に浮いたリンゴと少女の手の形が印象的だ。リンゴで毒殺したはずの白雪姫がこんな姿で鏡の中に現れたら、さすがの王妃様も腰を抜かしてしまうことだろう。白雪姫というより魅力的な超能力少女といった感じだ。白雪姫に対するボクの印象が変わった。
