Group show “Mempe 6” has started today at gallery SUNDAY ISSUE(Shibuya, Tokyo). Mempe, short for Tokyo Men’s Painter Society, is a name of art unit consists of Yukinori Dehara and Nampei Kaneko. This is their 6th group exhibition after an interval of three years since previous “Mempe 5(2008)”. You can see around 40 awesome new paintings they prepared for this exhibition. The show will be held until December 4th(SUN).
デハラユキノリと金子ナンペイ、この二人のからなるユニット”メンペ（Tokyo Men’s Painter Society）”の、 『メンペ展6／WE HAVE NO CHOICE』が本日から始まった。前回の『メンペ展5』からほぼ3年ぶりだ。今回のために合宿までして描き下ろした４０点あまりの新作に囲まれると、アートの持つエネルギーが身体の中まで伝わってきた。デハラユキノリの、フィギュアアーティストとは違った才能を見ることができるのも面白い。場所は渋谷児童会館（現在休館中）近くのSUNDAY ISSUE。今回初めておじゃましたギャラリーだが、ラウンジバー、ギャラリー、ブックコーナー（古本販売）という３つの顔を持つオシャレな空間だった。しかも音響設備が抜群で、ブックコーナーで聴いたタイトな低音には久しぶりにやられたなという感じ。会期は12月4日（日）まで。
